The Vision
I started the Islamic Book Fair of Scotland in 2023 because I saw a gap on our bookshelves. While there are so many beautiful books by Muslim authors, they were not easy to find in local Scottish shops. I wanted our children to have the joy of walking into a room filled with stories that celebrate who they are.
The Event
This event has become the highlight of my year. We bring together hundreds of books from all over the world so that children can see names and experiences just like theirs. Seeing a child light up when they find a book that reflects their own life is a truly wonderful feeling. It is a day full of excitement, learning, and community.
